A meal journal for mood, focus, and mental clarity
What it records
- The photo you chose, and the time you logged it.
- An estimated forecast for that meal, shown in about five seconds.
- Your check-in about ninety minutes later: mood, focus, and mental clarity.
- Any symptoms you tap — brain fog, restless, irritable, sleepy, calm.
- The goal you picked during onboarding, which decides which questions you see.
What a check-in looks like
A check-in is a ten-second pause: three sliders, then an optional row of symptom taps. Nothing is scored and there is no right answer. It exists to catch how your head feels before the rest of the day writes over the memory.
- Mood — from low to bright
- Focus — from scattered to locked in
- Mental clarity — from foggy to clear
“Protein-rich breakfasts are linked to clearer mornings for you.”
That is the shape of a finished entry, not a promise about yours. Step by step, it is set out on how it works.
What it does not do
- No calorie counting. No calorie targets, no macros, no portion scores.
- No food grades. Nothing you eat is rated good or bad, clean or dirty.
- No diet plan. It does not prescribe meals, restrict anything, or run an elimination protocol.
- No diagnosis. Food to Mind is a general wellness journal, not a medical device and not a mental-health service. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage any condition.
- No causation. It records an association between a meal and a later self-report. Sleep, workload, stress, caffeine, screen time, and timing all sit in between, and the app cannot separate them.
An association is a weaker thing than a cause, and saying so is the point. A journal can show you what kept happening together. Deciding what to do about it is yours, and if something persists it belongs with a qualified professional rather than an app.
Private by design
An account is optional. Without one, a random identifier is generated on your device. If you sign in, Clerk processes your email or Apple/Google details and our API sees an opaque account ID. Meal photos stay with the meal for as long as you keep it — deleting a meal removes its photo, and “Reset local data” clears the journal from your device and our API.
The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Is it available yet?
Food to Mind is still in development. There is no App Store listing yet, no public beta, and no waitlist, which is why nothing on this site links to a download. This section will change when that does.
